I am pleased to be writing the promotional copy for Calculated Risks: An Eberron Adventure. For Season 1, I have written an introduction to the adventure and characters and a season-level synopsis. These are complete and episodic promotional content for Season 2 is in progress (e.g., “previously on”, synopsis, and full summary).
Having specialized in media technical and content metadata for most of my 16 years working in Media and Entertainment, content promotional copy is very familiar territory, but this is the first series for which I am writing the copy. The episode and season synopses will be available for free on DMsGuild.
Writing this content provides a fun challenge in addressing the audience; informing and entertaining those who are reading to see if they are interested in the podcast, those who already listen but need to catch up, and those who listened and want more. As it is very compact, it also provides a great exercise in Rule #17: Omit needless words.
